How to become a hospice volunteer

What we look for in our volunteers​

​

• Commitment to volunteering weekly for at least an hour and recording experiences in a journal.

• Commitment to attend at least one support group meeting per semester and share experiences.

• Willingness to cultivate love, charity, and unconditional acceptance for patients and their families.​

• Ability to adapt to novel situations and circumstances.

• Ability to be empathetic and comfort those who stand in need of comfort.

• Willingness to help the staff with any household duties, such as taking phone calls or doing laundry.
